Posted - 02 Nov 2006 : 23:37:19 They're discussing a Modozine at the Lux site. Modonize has been brought up several times in that discussion. My thinking is that Modonize and a Modozine (I find the similarity in the spelling intriguing) could benefit each other. One member has suggested doing a web based magazine. Why not just use Modonize for that purpose since it's already setup? Maybe archive the contents of the Mag on Modonize.

Posted - 03 Nov 2006 : 20:41:11 I'm definitely in favor of a printable magazine (pdf). I'm constantly printing out things I find on the net simply because I prefer to read off paper than a display (or at least have that option), like in my favorite chair with a glass of wine. My studio is in my home so if I did all my self educating online my butt would forever be in the chair it's in now.
Web has it's advantages too though, and searchable archives is definitely one of them.

Posted - 03 Nov 2006 : 18:58:48 Yes I have a similar feeling. I want to have a printable magazine form which after a monthly publication will be integrated into modonize. I feel both are complementary but have a different approach. Sometimes, its just nice to see an organized collection of a set of articles, tutorials, reviews and contests. While at the same time, is also great to have a searchable and organized source for all info modo. I also found the naming intreguing.

PS I don't know what makes a magazine intriguing, but I guess its reading a group of people's point of view in collecting information about something, vs a community based source where anyone could participate. Does that make sense? |
