If you downloaded the mac version of the installer, all you have to do is double click the modoLicenseInstall*.command file to install the license key. (* means more stuff in the file name).

Try logging in as an admin before you run the *.command file. (...) The problem seems to be that the *.command script can't get permissions to write the license file.

Launch the command line (i.e Terminal app) and type :
sudo perl
then drag and drop the downloaded file on the window of the terminal (it will write magically the path and the name of the file you've just drag) and press return.
the command line will ask you your password. Give it to it and tada !
This worked for me but I still cannot install modo on my G5 tiger 10.4.2 : the install stops but I cannot figure out the problem. Perhaps, the dmg is not complete?

If you just downloaded and reinstalled the license you'll need to also make sure that you're using the latest 15661* build. You can download this installer from your download page. It should have 15661 somewhere in the filename.
* The number might change due to file updates. Make sure the license file is not prior to this number.

Download the pc version (yes even on the mac) and once it's extracted there will be a text file 'modo9576*.lic'. Move this file to the following directory:
/Library/Application Support/Luxology.
* The buildnumber might be different on your license.
There is a problem with your license (License error code: -103)
Click "Get License" for more information.

"I was logged in as an Administrator of the domain, that I am on, and it would give me that error every time. When I logged off and logged back on with my usual User Name, which also has Admin priveledges, it gave me a dialog box that requested I show it where the license file was located. Once I pointed it to the right place, it was fine."
