Add border to a baked texture map

-Bake your maps as you would normally.
-Take into PhotoShop and mask out the UV area.
-Invert selection and erase all the pixels that aren't covered by the UV area so that they become transparent (Might have to double click on the single layer first to rename it from Background to Layer 01).
-Duplicate the layer and select the bottom one. (original layer stays on top)
-Gaussian blur this bottom layer with a setting of about 3-4 pixels.
-Duplicate the blurred layer about 4 times and merge all blurred layers (exluding the orginal non blurred layer) into one.
-Duplicate the merged layer again about 4 times and then flatten the image.
You'll now have a nice 4 pixel (give or take) border running around your UV islands.
Don't go over the top with the blurring. The smaller the amount of blur, the more accurate the border will be. Experiment with this for better results. Very quick to do, you could even record it into an action.
